I’m Loving Emilio Valerio
I really can’t get enough of Emilio Valerio and the wines from this amazing producer! The age of these wines is starting to show great secondary notes, along with freshness, hints of floral and a depth that is unlike any other Spanish winery I have had recently. The wines are exquisite and all these wines are showing so superbly right now. I just can’t say enough of how amazing the quality of these wines and the fact they are among the best QPR wines out there, period.
Emilio Valerio is a family winery and a group of people who believe in sustainable development, fair trade and the promotion of local brands. They make wines from their own vineyards located on the slopes of Montejurra, organically grown (certified) and with the use of biodynamic techniques such as the use of plant extracts and infusions, fertilisation by herds in the area, maintenance, and protection of natural hedges.
They have more than 200 years of experience in the study of the land, viticulture and production of wine. With 28 plots, mostly Garnacha (Tierra Estella - Navarra), Emilio Valerio presents a collection of Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha and Graciano and a beautiful blend!
The Leorin vineyard is a unique Garnacha vineyard from 1968, goblet-pruned, in organic and dry farming worked by horse. Aged for 24 months in semi-new French oak barrels of 250 and 500 litres. A wine with great aromatic complexity where all the aromas of the mountain are found. On the palate it is delicate, and at the same time with a lot of character. Garnacha.
