Iconic Mac Forbes Coming Soon!

We are excited to announce the soon-to-be-arriving wines from one of Australia’s iconic producers and your chance to get your orders in before the rest of the public gets a chance!

Mac Forbes cut his vinous teeth at Mount Mary, where he was winemaker for several years before heading overseas in 2002. He spent two years in London working for Southcorp in a marketing liaison role, then travelled to Portugal and Austria to gain further winemaking experience. He returned to the Yarra Valley prior to the 05 vintage, purchasing grapes for the two-tier portfolio: first, the Victorian range (employing unusual varieties or unusual winemaking techniques); and, second, the Yarra Valley range of multiple terroir-based offerings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Forbes (Mac Daddy as he is known around the traps) has been the catalyst for positive change in the Valley in recent times. He has spent years working out what the sub regions and micro climates of the Yarra can do and what the varying expressions can offer. He, as a general rule, makes two styles of wine. His Yarra Valley wines tend towards beautifully crafted classic, site and regionally expressive examples of the traditional Yarra varieties. His other project the Experimental Batch (EB) is where he gets to play with things a little and push the envelope stylistically and also with varieties considered a little left of field. While he is most famous for his Pinot and Chard his EB range can offer thrilling drinking. One of the real talents in the Victorian winery scene and should be on everyone’s hit list.

Mac will also be here in mid-June for a few days so keep your eyes peeled for a chance to meet the man!

The wines are scheduled to arrive in Singapore on 24 June, so they should be available for delivery 3-5 business days after that! Happy drinking!
